Collaborating with colleagues, I contributed to the design of the UC 1500 — Student Transition Seminar course, developed using Rise 360. The course is crafted to assist students in transitioning successfully to their chosen academic programs at Ohio University.
It serves two primary audiences: students transferring to Ohio University and those switching academic programs within the institution. The course provides essential content on navigating university systems, understanding program-specific requirements, and utilizing available campus resources.
It also assesses the long-term viability of students’ academic and career paths while fostering a sense of belonging — encouraging active engagement in both curricular and co-curricular aspects of the students’ academic journey for a comprehensive transition experience.
